OBJECTIVEMr Jonathan Titterton, Director of Engineering ‘’Space heating and hot water provision are a major cost factor in our business. Increasing gas prices together with the impact of the Climate Change Levy meant we needed to seek ways to make permanent savings that would in no way compromise our obligations to ensure comfortable temperatures and continuous hot water throughout the hotel and resort. ‘’This together with our need to reduce our CO2 emissions we decided to take up the offer from
MK Energy of a free diagnostic survey of the heating systems. |

SOLUTIONFollowing a comprehensive report by MK Energy the principals of Fairmont St. Andrews accepted the recommendations and a range of Energy Management Systems were installed throughout the hotel and resort. Trials were conducted over a period. The savings achieved were quite impressive with no detriment to the existing conditions. Following a thorough comparative analysis of fuel consumption saving of over 30% were verified. As a result Fairmont St Andrews is also taking a lead in cutting harmful greenhouse gas emissions

| CONCLUSIONMr Titterton ‘’we were confident that there would be savings but were delighted with the overall results. We are very pleased to be associated with MK Energy who provide us with excellent customer service and at the same time the savings they generate and their service continues to be impressive. We look forward to extending our relationship with them” We have no hesitation in recommending MK equipment and MK Energy as a company.’’ Following a recent visit in April 2007 it was confirmed that substantial savings are maintained throughout the complex.
