GUEST COMFORT LEVELS OF PRIME IMPORTANCEChief Engineer Phil Hillman emphasised that comfort levels were of prime importance and must remain so but at the same time he needed to reduce ever increasing fuel costs and carbon emissions. |

SOLUTIONMK Energy carried out a free diagnostic survey of the heating and hot water systems for both hotels. Following this they produced a detailed report recommending the installation of MK Enermatic Systems to control both heating and hot water. Phil Hillman recommended MK Energy’s proposals to the Board of Directors and these were accepted.A series of Energy Management systems were installed and in the case of the Lowry Hotel a specialised unit was manufactured to cope with the ever increasing demands. |
RESULTFollowing these installations the systems were run in test mode for a period of time at the end of which savings in excess of 30% were recorded and as part of their commitment MK Energy have conducted tests periodically and the savings have remained constant. |
